Tina Leckey of Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County Recognized With Award

Outstanding members of the Ohio’s Hospice staff are recognized every quarter with Bouquet of Recognition Awards. Bouquet of Recognition Award honorees personify the qualities found in the Mission and Vision of Ohio’s Hospice and are the foundation upon which a remarkable patient experience is built. These staff members consistently demonstrate excellence through their expertise and extraordinary compassionate support for patients and families. They are recognized as outstanding role models in our hospice community.

Tina Leckey, personal care specialist at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County, was nominated for the Sunflower award by staff members at a local assisted living facility in Miami County for her extra care and attention to their residents.

Tina takes time to talk with each of her patients, explains what she is going to do, and answers any questions they have. She shows compassion, love and understanding to the patients she serves and the other residents in the facility.

While caring for a hospice patient who had very few visitors, Tina made a special effort to sit with the patient, hold their hand and talk with them so they would not die alone.

“Tina truly exemplifies the true calling of a hospice provider and is a gift sent to those in need,” one staff member wrote in the nomination.

Another staff member praised Tina for providing excellent care. “Tina is thoughtful, caring and compassionate,” the staff member said.

A third staff member applauded Tina for her kind voice and loving spirit that carries through to her patients.

We are honored to have Tina on our Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County care team and thank her for her commitment to our hospice mission.
